New Session Beginning in February!  - DRIVER'S EDUCATION  

Instructor:  George Olson

Open to students 14 years of age and older. This will be an in-person class.  Class will be held on Mondays and Thursdays on the following dates (10 classes), 6:00-9:00 P.M.:

Feb. 27, Mar. 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 27, 30, & Apr. 13. (Apr. 20 - Makeup Session)

One make-up day of Thurs., Apr. 20 is scheduled for any lesson you miss.  Any further missed lessons will be made up at an additional charge of $75 per lesson (no allowances will be made), or the course will need to be retaken, and no refund will be given.  There will also be a 1 ½-hour parent meeting with an officer of the State Patrol (date yet to be determined).   Parents and students who attend are eligible for a 10-hour reduction in the number of logged hours needed before students may take their road tests.  Due to space limitations, we ask that only one parent attend with the student.

MN Firearms Safety & Hunter Education

Instructor:  Pheasants Forever of St. Louis/Carlton County

Minnesota law states that all persons born after 12/31/1979 must provide proof of successful completion of a firearms safety or hunter education program in order to purchase a MN hunting license. This course, along with the accompanying field day, satisfies this requirement. The purpose of this MN DNR Hunter Education/Firearms Safety course is to: promote the safe and responsible use of firearms and hunting equipment and to emphasize the importance of wildlife management and regulations.

Cost is $13.50 to register for this course PLUS you will need to pay $7.50 to the MN DNR upon successful completion of the course in order to obtain your Hunter Education/Firearms Safety certificate. Parents are required to attend for the first 30 minutes of the first day of class to complete paperwork. Participants MUST have their driver’s license or Social Security number and date of birth for this paperwork on the first day of class. Must be 11 or older as of first day of class. Attendance to all classroom dates and field day are MANDATORY in order to comply with MN law. Course limited to 15 students.  No class April 5.
