"Typography Portrait" Student work
This course will meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for one hour each day. Come prepared with a notebook, iPad/laptop, #2 pencil and eraser, earbuds and flash drive* (storage devise, phone( (permission requqired), etc.). 
You must maintain your school gmail account and the school web page provided to you through http://artdept.carolynolson.net.  You must have your own set of earbuds. Internet permission form, photography consent form, equipment loan form and Internet citizenship consent form must all be in place before receiving credit for your work in this course.

You have been assigned a school Gmail account. Please use it daily as I (as well as other teachers) will be sending needed information to you. If you have an iPad/laptop or iPhone you are encouraged to use it  but you must keep download cord available to you in class.

We will be studying design as it relates to grid composition, text and imagery, and visual literacy based in the elements and principles of art and design. Understanding the software is critical to your success. All projects require basic computer literacy. Many of our projects will align with cultural, historical and social events. You are expected to bring new knowledge from other class lectures and personal research to what you already know and are learning in this course. When you build meaning and substance into your art it will mean more to you and ultimately have more to say to others.
The digital world is continually changing. As new information is shared we all grow. Come prepared to be part of the conversation.
